When Ashe finds a boy alone in the Driftless forest, she takes him in, unaware of exactly who, and what, he is. But strange things are moving between the trees, ancient and powerful things that threaten not just Ashe’s life, but the lives of everyone she’s ever known. When her adopted son disappears, she will do anything to get him back, even if it means unleashing the very chaos she swore to contain.
The initial idea for this novel came from a flash fiction piece I had published in City in a Wild Garden, volume 2 of Stories of the Nature of Cities. It will be a standalone novel, with no planned sequels or connected short stories.
